EasyClass or Canvas: Canvas holds the classroom, a school does not stop there.
Canvas is one of the best LMS platforms on the market, and this page does not claim otherwise: annotated marking, replicated courses, mobile apps and an ecosystem of more than a thousand integrations are real strengths. But a programme with its semesters, a signed transcript, a session-by-session register, a payment schedule and a receipt on the institution’s letterhead are not LMS features, and Canvas does not hold them. Here, line by line, is what each platform holds.

Two ways of working
An LMS, then the three systems around it. Or one record.
The question is not whether Canvas delivers courses well. It is where programmes, transcripts, attendance and invoices live once the courses are delivered, and who keeps the four of them connected.
With Canvas
- Deploy Canvas for courses, assignments and marking.
- Add a student records system for files and transcripts.
- Add a billing tool, then a gateway that collects in dirhams.
- Subscribe to Canvas Credentials for certificates, and a conferencing tool if session recordings have to be kept.

The scores given to Canvas are for the Core, Plus and Next tiers as Instructure describes them, without third-party applications from its marketplace. A third-party application changes the row: that is why the column says “to connect” rather than “no”.
What it costs
Canvas publishes what each tier contains. Not what it costs.
Instructure describes how Canvas is divided into three tiers and says, feature by feature, which one each begins on. The price is written nowhere on its site. So what can be compared is not an amount: it is what a quote covers, and what it leaves to be bought elsewhere.
Canvas
- Instructure publishes no price for Canvas: its site has no pricing page, and every tier leads to a conversation with sales.
- Canvas is sold in three tiers: Core, Plus and Next. Where each feature sits on that ladder is published; what it costs is not.
- Studio, the interactive video, Impact, the in-app messaging, and advanced analytics all begin on the Plus tier.
- The IgniteAI agent, natural-language data queries and the learner study tools are reserved for the Next tier.
- Canvas Catalog and Canvas Credentials are products of their own, presented on their own pages and absent from the three-tier table.
- And what none of the three tiers covers is still to be bought: the records system, the billing and collection in dirhams.
Instructure publishes no price for Canvas. The lines above describe how it divides its tiers, as its own tiers page sets them out, and nothing more. The amount depends on the quote, on numbers and on the products added, and we do not know it.
EasyClass
We publish no prices on this site, because a price shown out of context reads badly and ages worse. What we publish is the rule.
EasyClass is an annual subscription, sized on the number of students. Set-up (your programmes, your document templates, your data migration, the training) is invoiced once, then reused at every intake. After a diagnostic or a demo you get a complete written quote within 48 hours.
No feature is held back behind a higher tier: there is no ladder of tiers here, and course video, the leadership view and certificates do not move from one line to another depending on what you pay. Nothing is added to the bill without your asking for it.

Twelve staff, courses, attendance, transcripts, billing with online payment, remote sessions and certificates. This table compares no amounts: Instructure publishes none, and neither do we. It counts what the Canvas quote covers, and what is still to be bought alongside it.

Local footing
What a global product cannot settle on your behalf
This is where the two platforms diverge most, and it is not a question of features. Canvas is built to suit everywhere; EasyClass is built to suit here. Seven places where that shows.
The quote and the invoice in dirhams
Your budget is voted in dirhams and your invoice arrives in dirhams. No conversion, and no exchange-rate gap between the quote in March and the renewal in September.
Collection through Moroccan rails
Card payment is secured to banking-industry standards, and a counter payment is entered on the student’s record. Finance gets the period’s export with nothing to re-enter.
The mark out of 20, and the average that follows
Marks are entered out of 20, the weightings are those of your own curriculum, and the semester average is worked out inside the platform. Nothing is converted from another scale, then converted back for the transcript.
French everywhere, not only in the interface
Canvas exists in thirty-three languages, French among them: there is no argument to be had there. What differs is everything else: the documentation, the training of your teams, the transcript and certificate templates, and the person who answers when something goes wrong.
The CNDP as much as the GDPR
Processing is declared under Law 09-08, the data processing agreement is signed, and the Trust page says what is processed, where and by whom. A Moroccan institution does not have to translate a European framework for its own regulator.
Data in Europe, with a European host
OVHcloud, in France. The region is written down before signing, not asked about afterwards. For Canvas we did not find it on any public page we were able to read: that is a question to put to Instructure before signing, not a gap we are attributing to it.
A team that works when you work
Ours is in Casablanca. A question asked on a Tuesday morning is answered on the Tuesday morning, and not when another continent wakes up.

Changing platform
What transfers, and what does not exist yet
For an institution running on Canvas today, the overlap covers one thing only: courses and assignments. There is no Canvas or LTI connector: they are put back in place with you during set-up, from your exports, with their content and their marking scales.
Everything else EasyClass holds (programmes, fee schedules, session attendance, transcript templates) does not exist in your Canvas, and is built with you rather than migrated. That is what makes this move simpler than changing LMS: there are not two data models to map onto one another, there is one to lay out.

- Can EasyClass replace Canvas?
- For a school that wants courses, academic administration and payments in one place, yes. EasyClass holds courses, assignments and marking, and it also holds what Canvas leaves to other systems: programmes, fees, attendance, transcripts and communications. For an institution whose teaching rests on a range of LTI tools, the answer needs a case-by-case look: that is the ground where Canvas keeps the advantage.
- Does EasyClass support LTI tools?
- No, and it has no public API. It is the sharpest limit in this comparison, and it is a real one: Canvas claims more than a thousand partners and integrations where EasyClass claims none. What EasyClass offers instead is built-in modules (online classes, transcripts and certificates, attendance, payments) covering what a school ordinarily goes looking for a third-party tool to do.
- What does moving from Canvas to EasyClass involve?
- Courses and assignments are put back in place with you during set-up, from your exports: there is no Canvas connector. Programmes, fees, attendance and transcripts do not exist in your Canvas: they are built with you. It is usually simpler than changing LMS, because there is nothing to map on both sides.
- How much does Canvas cost?
- Instructure does not publish it. Its site describes what the Core, Plus and Next tiers contain, and sends you to a conversation with sales for the amount. We do not publish our prices either, so this page compares no price at all: what it compares is the number of contracts and vendors each side needs in order to cover a whole school.
- Does EasyClass work in French?
- Yes, as does Canvas, which exists in thirty-three languages. The difference is not the interface: it is that the documentation, the training, the document templates and the team that answers you exist in French, and in Casablanca.
