Case study · Africa Business School · Executive Education
How Africa Business School wired its executive programmes into its client’s HR system.
Africa Business School trains the managers of Groupe OCP. Every session ended with the same work: typing into the client’s HR system what the school already knew. GEERD built Elevate, the platform for ABS’s executive programmes, and connected it to Workday and Edusign.

Where it started
The same information, kept twice, on both sides of the boundary.
Typed in twice
What the school already knew, who had enrolled, who had attended, who had passed, was keyed in again by hand in the client’s HR system.
Attendance on paper
Signed in the room, scanned, typed up. Between a session ending and the proof that it happened, there were days and several pairs of hands.
No catalogue on the client’s side
An employee could not see the school’s programmes from their own HR portal. Requests went through emails and a contact at the school.
Two versions of the truth
The school and the client each kept their own list of who was enrolled, who attended and who passed. The lists drifted apart, and the gap was settled at the end of the programme, when settling it costs the most.
The circuit
What replaces the re-keying: a closed circuit.
Elevate is the only place anything is entered. Everything else travels. The catalogue goes out to the client, the employee books from their own HR portal, the enrolments come back, the signed attendance comes up from Edusign, the results go out.
What we did
Four layers, in the order they were built.
01
Mapping what crosses
What actually crosses the boundary between the school and its client: who enters, who checks, who chases, and exactly where the same information gets typed a second time.
02
Elevate, on our own base
GEERD did not start from nothing: Elevate is built on the technical base of our platforms, then shaped around the school’s executive programmes. The bespoke work went where the need was genuinely specific.
03
The Workday connector
A dedicated service speaks Workday’s protocol. Courses, sessions and their capacity go out to the client’s catalogue; the employees and their enrolments come back into Elevate, attached to the right programme.
04
Edusign on the session
Attendance capture is created with the programme, and the signature given in the room comes up into Elevate attached to the right session. No scan, no re-keying, no delay.
What changed
Four things the team no longer does twice.
Entered once
The programme is created once, in Elevate. The client’s catalogue fills itself from there.
The employee stays in their own tool
They find the programme and book it from their own HR portal, like any internal training.
Attendance is no longer paper
Signed in the room, it comes back attached to the session, with no scan and no re-keying.
One list
The school and the client read the same enrolments, the same attendance, the same results.

What comes next
The same circuit, for the next client.
What was built once for one industrial group can be re-wired to the next client’s HR system. It is the integration work that repeats, not the platform.
Is your client asking for attendance and results inside their own system?
That is integration work before it is platform work. Tell us what crosses the boundary between you and your client today, and through whose hands.
